Early Childhood Education Scholarship

Eligibility Requirements (Both Programs)

Must reside in Hawai’i County.

Must work or plan to work in an early learning setting (birth to age 5) on Hawai’i Island.

Must be an accepted student at Chaminade University or Hawai’iCC to receive the corresponding scholarship.

Scholarship Details
(Both Programs)

Covers tuition and course fees for Early Childhood Education (ECED) courses along with general education requirements.

Students are responsible for costs not covered by the scholarship, including books, supplies, and travel.

Must complete the Scholarship Application for each term enrolled.

Scholarship is available through December 2026.

Hawai’i Community College

Recipients of this scholarship will be enrolled in Hawai’iCC or Hawai’i Community College.

Pursue an A.S. degree and/or certificate in ECED. Classes are also available to non-degree seeking students.

Chaminade University

Recipients of this scholarship will be enrolled in Chaminade University of Honolulu.

Pursue a major in B.S. Early Childhood Education with Montessori Credential, M.A.T. Early Childhood Education with Montessori Credential, or Non-Degree Montessori Certificate Program. Classes are available to non-degree seeking students.

Required teaching experience for the Montessori Credential must occur at a Montessori school.

Classes may be fully-online or hybrid. Travel to O’ahu for program-related commitments may be required and travel costs will be the student's responsibility
