Every Child's Behavior Tells a Story: Free Training for Early Childhood Providers in Hilo
At Baby STEPS Hawaii, we know that behind every "challenging behavior" is a child trying to communicate something. That's why we're excited to share an upcoming training from our partners at Pāhoa Promise and Pāhoa Reads: Helping Children Through Challenging Behavior — a free, practical workshop for early childhood providers, built through a culturally responsive lens.
If you work with keiki, this one's for you.
What to Expect
This isn't a lecture. It's a hands-on training designed for the providers, teachers, and caregivers who are in the room with kids every day, navigating the hard moments alongside them. You'll walk away with:
Practical strategies you can use the next day, not just theory
Real-world problem solving, working through the situations providers actually face
A culturally responsive approach grounded in understanding behavior as communication, not just something to manage
Lunch and swag are included, and the whole training is free when you attend.

Why We're Sharing This
Baby STEPS Hawaii believes strong early childhood support doesn't happen in isolation — it takes a community of providers, families, and organizations working from the same playbook. This training is a chance to build shared skills and language around supporting our youngest keiki through their toughest moments, and we're proud to help get the word out.
Seats are limited, so if you're an early childhood provider on Hawai'i Island, reserve your spot soon.
Questions about the training? Reach out to Pāhoa Promise directly, or contact Baby STEPS Hawaii and we'll point you in the right direction.
